WASHINGTON (AP) -- A teacher at D.C.'s Young America Works public
charter school has been charged with molesting a student.
Authorities say 57-year-old Ricardo Cuaderes is being held in
Howard County Detention Center for allegedly abusing the
14-year-old boy. Cuaderes has been charged with one count of child
sexual abuse, three counts of second-degree sex offenses and two
counts of third-degree sex offenses.
Howard County police say Cuaderes allegedly took the student to
his house in Ellicott City sometime between November and January,
and assaulted him.
Nona Richardson, communications manager for the D.C. Public
Charter School Board, says Cuaderes has been fired.
